Hiding secret information into an image

Stegnography


Stegnography is the process of hiding the information or any files inside the image.This is one of the secure way of exchanging information in a more secure manner.This method is used in olden days also.This method is less prone to hack the information from the image.There are many ways to implement this method by means of command line,third party softwares.Stegnography can be done in any platform.In this tutorial we will use a software named "Stegosuite" which is available for windows,linux distros.As this software is written in java so it will be downloaded as a jar file so we need to download "jdk" to run this software.

Steps to use stegosuite:

1.Go to the site :https://www.stegosuite.org and then download according to your operating system.




2.If jdk is not installed install it through jdk
3.Then install the software
4.click File->open and then select any image to hide the information and then enter the password for the image and click embed.
A new image file will be created with filename_embed.jpg.



5.If you want to see the information in the image click File->open and then select that filename_embed.jpg image file and then click extract.The hidden information will be displayed.
