WhatsApp will stop working on these phones from today

WhatsApp is undoubtedly one of the most popular and the most used instant messaging app in the world and while it has over a billion downloads on Google Play store alone, WhatsApp has been adding new features in order to further amplify the overall user experience. But these new developments also mean that the folks at WhatsApp also need to cut down on the dead weight in order to evolve this app according to the needs of uses.

Keeping this in mind, WhatsApp regularly ends support for some old or kind of defunct operating systems citing that these platforms/phones don't offer the kind of capabilities or options which WhatsApp needs in order to expand its features in the future.

Now, from January 1, 2019, onwards, WhatsApp will be ending its support for Nokia S40 and since the Facebook-owned platform won’t be developing features for this platform, WhatsApp will stop working on all phones which are running Nokia S40 (Symbian) platform. It should be noted that WhatsApp has already ended its support for Nokia Symbian S60 OS, Windows Phone 8.0 OS, BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10.

The phones which WhatsApp will no longer support from January 1, 2019, and run Nokia S40 OS include Nokia Asha 201, Asha 205, Nokia 206, Asha 210, Nokia 208, Asha 230, Asha 500, Asha 501, Asha 502, Asha 503, Nokia 206, Nokia 208, Nokia 301 and Nokia 515. There is no way that you can still use WhatsApp on these phones and you will have to buy a new device running on the latest OS, be it Android or iOS, in order to access your WhatsApp account.
